Melancholy is made of the dead moments between doing and thinking: that emptiness that haunts me in the long seconds in which I look at the night sky and see the Moon trapped between Jupiter and Saturn, the two giants far, far away, and still capable of pushing me towards a ghostly fall into the heavy, damp cloud that ends in sleep.
Panorama is an interdisciplinary project, composed mainly of photographs, but also videos, sounds and written text. Triggered by the looming feeling of unresolved issues regarding my father’s death 13 years ago, when I was 18, the series explore and analyse the intersection between the experience of flesh and the unfulfilled void of emotional connection. This series is very much a work in progress and is being carried out since 2019. This collection of audiovisual fragments tell an abstract story of death and rebirth, of melancholia and transformation, a panoramic view of recent years and the future to come.
